Your Place to Find Running and Bike Tracks

How to Find Sport Tracks

Under Find Tracks you may search for existing sport tracks. First, you will usually pan the map onto the location of your interest. You can immediately jump to your location by entering any form of address (like street name, city, country, etc) into the "Go to address" field in the navigation bar. It is also shown in the left picture. After pressing Return or after clicking the runner next to the address field the map will change to your location.

The box right hand to the map (see also picture on the right) lists the nearest tracks to your location. No track exists near to your location if distances are far in this list. Feel free to extend the database with new tracks under Create Tracks. You may browse to one of the listed tracks by clicking their name.

The picture on the left shows a map snippet with existing tracks on it. Click them to obtain more details about them. The green bicycles indicate tracks for biking. The flags are tracks for running.

After clicking one of the track items you will see a blue line. This line describes the course of the track (see picture on the right). Further information is presented in the box, like length, pavement, illumination and difficulty.

How to Create new Sport Tracks

Under Create Tracks you may add your own tracks to the system to make it available for others. As for finding tracks you can jump to your location by using the address field. When clicking the map a "green" point will appear on the map, just at the place where the map was clicked. This point can be tracked around by keeping the left mouse button pressed upon the green point. This green point will become the starting point of your tracking. When the point is at its designated position you have to use the right mouse button to fix it. Alternatively you may press the "Add Point" link for fixing it. The point will turn into blue

Now the starting point is assigned to the track. To generate the entire course you need to add further points along the track's path. This happens in the same manner as with the first point. Again, by clicking the map a "green" point will be added. It will turn into a "blue" point after attaching it to the current track by either pressing the right mouse button or the "Add Point" link. The sequence of points is connected by an underlying blue line. Continue, until you have finsished describing the track. Afterwards press "Store". You may remove the last "blue" point by clicking "Remove Point" or restart by clicking "Clear".

After clicking the "Store" button you have the possibility to adjust the attributes of the track. Fill out the form, press "Strore" and the track is finished. You will find it now when visiting Find Tracks.
